Mission Ministries
Jesus’ words in
Matthew provide the church with our mission: “Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything that I have commanded you” (28:19-20), and “You shall
love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your mind….And you shall love your neighbor as
yourself.” (22:37, 39).
(Book of Discipline
of UMC 2004 paragraph 121)
The objective of
Mission Ministries: As servants of Christ we are sent into the world
to engage in the struggle for justice and reconciliation. We seek to
reveal the love of God for men, women, and children of all ethnic,
racial, cultural, and national backgrounds and to demonstrate the
healing power of the gospel with those who suffer.
(Book of Discipline
of UMC, paragraph 124)
Mission Statement:
Taking Christ’s love to our neighbors through spiritual growth,
fellowship and outreach.
We invite people to
God’s house, we nurture them, we equip them to be in ministry to the
world, and then we send them out to change the world. We can join
projects, make donations, or lead others. What an adventure!
“BROTHERS AND
SISTERS IN CHRIST, THE WILL OF GOD WILL NEVER LEAD YOU WHERE THE
GRACE OF GOD CANNOT KEEP YOU.”
