Greeter guidelines

Our mission is to be welcoming and informative to visitors. To make people feel they are among friends in Christ.

Arrive 15 minutes before the service begins.
       Bring a smile
       a warm handshake
       your name tag

Sanctuary Greeters - Hand each person a bulletin/scripture and direct them over to the back table to pick up their name tag. Show children where activity bags are located if needed.

Inside Sanctuary/Fellowship Hall Greeters - Hand each person a bulletin/scripture and direct them to the back table to pick up their name tag.  Show children where activity bags are located.

Parking Lot Greeters - Watch for elderly needing help getting out of their car, assist if needed. Greet everyone with a “Good Morning”. Hold front door open for those needing help. If it’s raining, assist with umbrella found inside front door.

Nametag Station Greeter - Greet those unfamiliar faces with “Hi, My name is Sally. I don’t believe we’ve met. Is this your first time to visit Monticello? Let me make a nametag for you.” (Sticky nametags are found in the basket below the nametag board.) Tell them to leave their nametag in the basket after service and we will print them a permanent one on the computer for their next visit. If this is their first visit, hand them a mug and tell them how happy you are that they are visiting our church. There are lanyards available for those not wishing to clip name tag on clothes.

All Greeters - Be prepared to answer questions if needed or find someone who will. Introduce them to someone else in the congregation and go back to the door. Don’t follow them to the pew. They want to be left alone once they sit down.

Greeters make everyone in God’s house feel welcome and appreciated.

 Thank You & God Bless.
